Chapter 15-The Unwelcome Guest
           Ferncliff
           Julie's Room
           May 1, 2000
           3:05pm

Julie was on her bed, working on her word search, when she heard a woman
shouting very loud and making a real loud commotion in the hallway.
Suddenly without warning, the door swung open and blond woman walked
towards her bed. Julie dropped her word search, then stood up and faced her.

''Carly Benson! Why are you here? Don't tell me, you came here to give me
hints on living in Ferncliff?'' Julie asked sarcastically.
Carly glared, ''Smart Alec! I have few choice words to say to you about..''
''Miss Devlin. We tried to stop this crazy woman from breaking in here.
Would you like me to throw her out of your room?'' the guard said
           interrupting the conservation.
''No... I am very interested what Miss Benson has to say to me today,'' Julie
           said pleasantly.
''If you have any problems, please yell!'' the guard said eyeing Carly
           suspiciously.
           ''I will, thanks,'' Julie replied.
Then the guard departed the room and closed the door quietly.
Carly rolled her eyes, then said, ''Finally, I thought that Jerk would never
leave. He treated me so rudely because I refused to meet you in the visitor's
room... You know, he must be new here because I didn't recognize him from
the days when I used to live here last year.''
''As much I love to hear about your life in Ferncliff, I do have better things
to do with my time. Why don't you tell me why you are really here?'' Julie
           asked rudely.
''Fine, I will. How dare you tell Jason that I am bad influence on my son and
that he has right to know the Quartermaine family. All my problems, started
the day he visited you. This is all your fault!!,'' Carly said angrily.
''I only told Jason the truth!'' Julie said smugly.
''Do you want to know all the problems that you have caused me,'' Carly
           asked coldly.
''No, but I am sure you will inform me,'' Julie said sounding bored.
''This isn't funny...'' Carly yelled, ''Well, thanks to you, Miss Devlin. Jason
finally talk to AJ, man to man, and they have actually became brothers
again. Next, they both sued me for sole custody and won. Then Jason moved
to the Quartermaine Mansion to help raise Michael with AJ. I'm lucky if they
will let me see Michael once a week. And the worse part is that Jason hates
           my guts now!!''
''Thanks goodness, the borg finally came to his senses. As for you, how dare
you keep a boy from his father. You are the most selfish person that I have
ever met in my life! And you don't love Michael, you only use him so you
can get close to Jason!! You never spend any time with him. Oh, wait that's
not true, Carly! You spend time with Michael when Lettica has a day off,''
           Julie chuckled.
Carly eyes glared, ''How dare you say that about me!! You know nothing
about me and my love for Michael. I never allowed AJ near his son
           because...''
''Because you are selfish woman and didn't like your father of your son. You
wanted the perfect golden boy, Jason Morgan as his Dad. Atleast he took
responsibility for your son, unlike you. You ought be ashamed of yourself for
dragging him into your cruel scheme about deceiving AJ!!'' Julie sneered.
''Jason loves me that why he lied for me,'' Carly retorted.
Julie started laughing hysterically, then managed to say, ''And they call me
insane! You are out of your mind if you think Jason will ever love you. He
loves Robin Scorpio, despite the fact you drove her out of town.''
Carly's face was quickly turning red, then she spoke angrily, ''Robin betrayed
Jason, he will never trust or love her again.''
''You're wrong!! For you see Carly, my friend Karen is excellent friends with
Robin and they always keep in touch. Yesterday she told me that her and
Jason recently talked and he forgave her for everything. He actually thanked
her from freeing him from you. Jason is planning to visit her in a few weeks
and see if can they work things out. I am afraid your little plot to steal Jason
from Robin has failed,'' Julie said smugly.
''Why you little tramp. I'm sure if you weren't a serial brainwashed killer,
you would be chasing after Jason,'' Carly snapped.
''Oh, please, I have better taste than that,'' Julie quipped.
''Are you saying that Jason isn't good enough for you. Of all the nerve!''
Carly said angrily the slapped her hard on the cheek.
Julie pulled away then slapped her back even harder, ''Now, get lost before I
           call security on you!''
Carly stared at her, then spoke nervously, ''Jason loves me, I know he does.''

Then she knocked on the door and left the room.
Afterwards Julie chuckled, ''If she keeps up that belief that the man loves
her, she will be a making Ferncliff her home again.''

           Chapter 16-Mother's Day
           Ferncliff
           Visitor's Room
           May 9, 1999
           10am

''Julie, I have the most wonderful news. Someone close and near to your
heart has come by to see you,'' Dr. Rimmer said pleasantly.
           ''Garcia!!'' Julie said excitedly.
''Uh, no! But Garcia has schedule a visit with you tomorrow. Julie, it is
someone who hasn't seen you in a long time,'' Dr. Rimmer said mysteriously.

           ''Who!'' Julie asked with curiosity.
Suddenly they both heard someone knocking on the door.
''Well, here is our surprise visitor here!'' Dr. Rimmed smiled.
           ''Mom!'' Julie said in shock.
''Hi Julie,'' Nichole smiled as she carried her jacket.
''Happy mother's day, Mrs. Devlin. Hope you and your daughter have a
lovely visit today,'' Dr. Rimmer as he shut the door.
''Darling, it's so wonderful to see you,'' Nichole said as she hugged her
           daughter.
''Happy Mothers' day! It's nice to see you too. Why are you here?'' Julie
           asked puzzled.
''Oh, I wanted to see on how your life is lately,'' Nicole asked pleasantly.
''My life is just peachy. I started a new career as a serial murderer and
recently was caught. Oh, I moved from the Scanlon Basement to this lovely
mental institution. But if you stayed around town, you might have know
           that,'' Julie said sarcastically.
''Julie, I was ashamed of you hooking up with the reject intern, Greg Cooper.
I couldn't believe how gullible you were to actually believe that Greg was
           your brother,'' Nichole chuckled.
''He brainwashed me, and so I bought everything that he told me,'' Julie
           explained.
''Brainwashed! Julie I think you been watching Days of Lives too long. You
wanted Greg as your brother, so you were willing to believe his lies'' Nicole
           retorted.
''So, what if I did. Greg was a wonderful brother. He taught me so much,''
           Julie said beaming
           ''Like what?'' Nicole said skeptically.
''Like building a bomb, and placing in a elevator at GH,'' Julie smiled.
''But you caught in your own trap, and nearly died. That wasn't too bright,
           Julie!'' Nichole sharply said.
''But, But it wasn't my fault!!'' Julie stuttered.
''It is never your fault is it, Julie. Your father and I gave you the most
wonderful life, and how did you show your appreciation. You decided to stab
your father in the heart with a pen!'' Nichole said coldly.
''He deserved to die! He killed Buddy! He also gave me a bad evaluation!!!''
           Julie yelled.
''Oh, here comes out the real reason. Your Dad never thought you had the
right stuff to be a doctor,'' Nichole said loudly.
''Of course not! No matter what I ever did, it was ever good enough for my
parents. I could be a perfect doctor and you would still find fault with
anything I do,'' Julie said coldly.
''Julie, you are just a complete failure as a doctor and serial killer. But I will
give you credit, you did fool most of people in Port Charles. Most everyone
thought you were innocent except for Victor Collins!'' Nichole
''Damn, that man, if only hadn't seen me kill Grace! He ruined all my plans.
But I get him and that duck one day,'' Julie said bitterly.
''Well, whatever, Julie. Damn I broke a nail!,'' Nicole exclaimed.
''Didn't you hear what I said,'' Julie said angrily.
''Of course, Victor ruined your plans...Have you seen Frank, lately. I thought
he was such a great boyfriend for you,'' Nicole said pleasantly.
''I hardly see Frank. Finding out that I was a serial killer, broke up our
relationship. If you had stayed around PC, you might of supportive me
during that rough time!'' Julie said bitterly.
''I have a life Julie, I can't expect to running to Port Charles for every little
crisis that you have,'' Nicole said shaking her head.
''Oh, so being on trial for my life isn't important then. Figures you are more
concerned about yourself than your own daughter,'' Julie said angrily.
''Julie, I knew you were guilty. I knew you were lying about killing your
father. I couldn't support a murderer, and that's when I decided to leave
           town,'' Nicole explained.
''But I thought was very conniving, how did you know I was lying,'' Julie
           seemed puzzled.
''Oh, I just knew, Julie! Plus I heard talking to yourself in bathroom
bragging that you murdered your father,'' Nicole smiled.
''What!!! And Why didn't you tell the PCPD about my conservation!'' Julie
           said in shock.
''The PCPD are complete idiots, I wouldn't trust them to arrest a jaywalker
properly. Beside you had only killed your father, and I thought you did a
world a favor anyways I new you would find a get acquitted. How was I
supposed to know you'd start a killing spree!'' Nicole said shaking her head.
''I wouldn't hooked up with Greg or killed Dad and the others, if hadn't been
for Eve. Most of my problems occurred because she had a affair with Dad. I
           hate that woman!!!'' Julie sneered.
''Obviously, or otherwise you would of never have bricked her up in wall!''
           Nicole remarked.
''How do you know all the stuff about me! You weren't around in Port
Charles to know anything about me. Did you hire spies to watch me,'' Julie
           asked, eyeing her suspiciously.
''No, don't be silly, Julie. I was in Europe at the time, and lost track of your
activities here. One day, I read in the paper about in Port Charles, New York
about an article about the General Homicide Murder. That would be you,
Julie. Once I arrived in town, I immediately went to the Julie Devlin
Museum, and saw Frank. He gave me a report of your life since I left town,''
           Nicole
''And what shocked you the most about me,'' Julie smiled evilly.
''That you sang in the nurses ball with Eve. Frank showed me your
performance on tape, and I can't believe how you embarrassed the Devlin
name by your number. You shocked me by being the worst singer in the
           world,'' Nicole said in disgust
''I admit I am not that great of singer but how could that shocked you the
most! What about my five murders and attempted murders?'' Julie asked in
           bewilderment.
''You sang willingly unlike the murders of which Greg order you to do. Now
if you actually thought out the General Homicide Murders, you bet I would
           of been shocked,'' Nicole remarked.
Julie face started to turn red and then she said angrily, ''Get out, before I
           decide to become an orphan!''
Nichole looked scared, then knocked loud and hard on the door
''Bye Julie, take care,'' she quickly said, then departed the room
Afterwards Julie sat at the table and muttered to herself, ''I wish today had
been father's day instead. Atleast, he would of been silent.''

           Chapter 17-The Fugitive
           Ferncliff
           Parking Lot
           May 19, 1999
           12pm

Julie breathed a deep sigh of relief as she ran toward a blue car.
She took some car keys out of her pockets and said to herself, ''That guard
never knew what hit him. I am so glad that my lamp came in handy.''
She chuckled, then continued, ''I am so happy to be out of Ferncliff. But
before I leave Port Charles, there is something I must do. How generous of
the guard to loan me his car!''
She then smirked, jumped inside and drove away.

           Julie's Room
           2:10pm

''We have search the grounds and there is no sight of her, Commissor
           Scorpio,'' Officer Rick reported.
''Thanks Rick. Why don't you notify the state police block the boarder. I'm
sure she will be heading out of New York State as soon as she can,'' Mac
           commented.
''She might be seeking revenge after the people she hates,'' Dr. Rimmer
           commented.
''Ok, search every henhouse, barnyard, lighthouse, hotel, hospital, to find the
Fugitive Julie Devlin. She's an insane murderer, and don't be afraid to shoot
to kill if necessary,'' Mac ordered to his men.
''Mac, it's not necessary because I learned some valuable information from
the guard that Julie had knocked out. I know where she is,'' Kevin said
causally as he walked into the room.
''Kevin, we can't afford to go on a possible hunch that you might have,'' Mac
           said cautiously.
''This isn't a hunch,'' Kevin said calmly.
Then he whispered into Mac's ear, and then he said, ''Well, what you think.''
''That I never should of doubted you... Men, follow me, we are going to
captive our fugitive shortly!'' Mac said confidently.
Then Mac and Kevin ran out of the room, leaving Dr. Rimmer puzzled, ''I
           wish someone would tell me!!''

           Port Charles Twin Mall Entrance
           3:00 pm

''I just hope we aren't too late!'' Mac said as he, Kevin, and his men ran
           down the hallway.
''We won't be!'' Kevin said out of breath, then Kevin turned right and said,
           ''Here we are!''
''Cinema 8 Theater. What are we doing here?'' Rick asked puzzled.
''Well, Don't you know what today is?'' Kevin inquired.
           ''It's Wednesday,'' Officer Rick replied.
Mac shook his head, ''You idiot! Star Wars: The Phantom Menace opens
           today.''
''But the tickets are sold out. How could Julie get in?'' Rick asked feeling
           foolish.
''She stole the guard ticket for the 2 o'clock showing. And let me tell you that
man was mighty upset about the loss because he had stood in lines for hours
just to buy his ticket,'' Kevin replied.
''Well, what movie theater was his ticket for?'' Mac asked.
           ''No.2,'' Kevin answered.
''Well, What are we waiting for then. Rick, I want you stay behind and guard
the front entrance with the men. Kevin and I will go inside,'' Mac said
           quickly.
Rick nodded as Kevin and Mac started to walk toward the movie booth.
Mac approached the young lady there, then he flashed his badge.
''How can I help you two?'' The young lady inquired.
''Tell us where your manager is right now?'' Kevin asked.
The girl pointed toward the popcorn machine where they saw a tall man
           standing.
''Thanks,'' Mac said gratefully, then he and Kevin walked toward him.
''Excuse me Jon. I am Mac Scorpio, your Port Charles police commissor,''
Mac looking at his name tag, ''We are seeking your help in catching a pycho
serial killer named Julie Devlin. What I need you to do is to shut down the
movie so we can apprehend her.''
Jon looked shocked, ''Are you nuts, shut down the movie half way through.
Those Stars Wars Fans will kill us if we do that. I'm sorry, you just have wait
till the Phantom Menace is over to captive Miss Devlin.''
Mac turned to Kevin and looked at him, ''Well, what do you think, Kev.''
''Jon has a point, those fan would hate us if we did that. Let's just wait for
now, Julie isn't going anywhere.'' Kevin replied.
''Thank you. If there is anything I can do for you and PCPD, please let me
know. I will be in my office for the next while,'' Jon said pleasantly.
''We will,'' Kevin replied as Jon left them.
Afterwards Mac turned to Kevin, ''I have Garcia and Taggert guarding the
back exits, while we will watch the front doors.''
''I am sure that catching Julie will be a piece of cake for us. I am not
           worried,'' Mac said casually.
Then he ordered some popcorn and pop at the counter.
           ''Mac!'' Kevin exclaimed
''Well, we might as well enjoyed ourselves while we wait for Julie,'' Mac
           chuckled.
''Well, if you are buying, then I'm eating,'' Kevin said grinning as he pointed
           toward the KitKat.
''One KitKat for my friend here,'' Mac said to the girl.
''Thanks Pal. Now all we need to do is to wait for that psycho to finish her
movie then we can capture her,'' Mac said throwing some popcorn in his
           mouth.
''Won't Julie be surprised to see us. You know, I told her she could never
           outsmart me,'' Kevin said smugly.

           50 minutes later

''Hey, the movie ended. I see that people are coming out now,'' Kevin said
           drinking some pop.
''Alright, let's go after Julie!'' Mac said putting his popcorn down.
Then Mac and Kevin starting to look for her as the crowd cruised by them.
Suddenly Mac saw Julie in the mix, and he walked right up to her.
''Well, fancy meeting you here!'' Mac grinned then slapped the handcuffs on
           her.
''Kevin!'' Julie said angrily, ''Once again, you have ruined my plans.''
''Julie, I knew you would of came straight here to the Phantom Menace even
if you hadn't stole the guard's ticket!'' Kevin said confidently.
''Jerk!! I never should of confided to you that I was a Star Wars Fan!! Your
fired, Dr. Collins!'' Julie yelled as Mac lead her away.
Kevin took a drink out of his rootbeer and said calmly, ''Oh, well. I didn't
really want to counsel a woman who once tried to kill me anyways.''

           Solitaire Room
           5:30pm

Julie stared angrily at the wall, ''I saw the Phantom Menace, just like I said I
           would, Kevin! So there!''
Then smiled smugly and proceeded to fall asleep.

           The End

           Chapter 18:  Memorial Day
           Ferncliff
           Julie's Room
           Memorial Day 1999
           12pm

Julie stared out the window as she watched the Ferncliff employees have a
Barbecue picnic outside. She was ticked because the staff hadn't included the
           mental patients in their plans.
''Why couldn't they invite us...Jerks!'' Julie said angrily.
''Well, I might as work on my crossword. As boring as it might be,'' Julie
           said rolling her eyes.
She picked up her book and read the first clue, ''Port Charles, General
           Homicide Killer, Hmm, 11 letters.''
She pondered for a moment and shook her head, ''Oh, Duh, it's me, Julie
           Devlin!''
Suddenly she heard the door knock and man walk and smiled, ''Hi, I am Dr.
Tom Hardy. Dr. Collins has asked me to take over your case.''
''Well, good since I fired Dr. Collins. ...Dr. Hardy? Are you related to
           Audrey?'' Julie asked suspiciously
''She is my mother. I can't believe that she has never mentioned you to me.
How about my ex-wife Simone and my son Tommy. I am sure you met them
           at GH?'' Tom asked pleasantly.
Julie shook her head, ''Never heard of Simone or her son Tommy at GH. Are
you sure she still work there?''
''I'm just talked her this morning at GH. You see, I just returned from Africa
yesterday, and Dr. Collins contacted me to help you.'' Tom smiled.
''Dr. Collins couldn't help me, why makes you think so. My life just sucks
here in Ferncliff. Dr. Hardy, Can you get me of this horrible place ?'' Julie
           asked sarcastically.
''No, I can't! But Julie, you must look at the brighter side of life.
The Tom started to whistle and began singing

Always look on the bright side of life.
           [whistling]
Always look on the light side of life.
           [whistling]

           If life seems jolly rotten,
           There's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps,
           Don't be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle. That's the thing.
           And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
           [whistling]
Always look on the right side of life,
           [whistling]
Always look on the bright side....

''Shut up! I live in Ferncliff, there is nothing bright here. If I want to listen to
singing, I will turn on the radio!'' Julie yelled.
''Julie, is there a problem?'' an orderly and security guard both said walking
           inside.
''Yes, get this singing idiot out of my room!'' Julie ordered.
''I never should of became a shrink anyways. I am terrible at this job,'' Tom
           complained.
''And what did you want to be,'' Julie asked pretending to be interested.
Tom smiled, ''A lumberjack in British Columbia, Canada!''
           He paused then said loudly,

Leaping from tree to tree! As they float down the mighty rivers of British
Columbia! With my best girl by my side!
           The Larch!
           The Pine!
           The Giant Redwood tree!
           The Sequoia!
           The Little Whopping Rule Tree!
           We'd sing! Sing! Sing!
           Then Tom burst out singing,

           Oh, I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay,
I sleep all night and I work all day.

           Then the orderly chimed in,

           He's a lumberjack, and he's okay,
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
           Tom smiled and continued,

I cut down trees, I eat my lunch,
           I go to the lava-try.
           On Wednesdays I go shoppin'
And have buttered scones for tea.

           The Guard grinned, then sang

He cuts down trees, he eats his lunch,
           He goes to the lava-try.
           On Wednesdays 'e goes shoppin'
And has buttered scones for tea.

           Then the orderly sang,
           He's a lumberjack, and he's okay,
He sleeps all night and he works all day...

''Quit this singing, now!!!!! And Tom, your fired!! I don't want no singing
           shrink counseling me!'' Julie shouted.
Tom shrugged his shoulder, ''No big deal. I didn't want to counsel you
anyway. I am going to British Columbia to accomplish my dream of being a
           lumberjack.''
Then he turned to guard and orderly, ''Let me out of this wacko's room!''
After he left, Julie laughed, ''A lumberjack! and they call me crazy.''

           Chapter 19:  The Necklace
           Ferncliff
           Visitor's Room
           June 12, 1999
           4pm

Julie took a drink of water out of her glass and hoped her mysterious visitor
would arrive soon. Suddenly the door swung open and Julie exclaimed,
''Lark, How kind of you drop and see me,'' Julie said sarcastically.
''Get over yourself, Julie. This isn't a social visit,'' Lark said coldly.
''Do tell me Lark,'' Julie said rolling her eyes.
''You have something that I want back,'' Lark said calmly.
''What? Frank.... You already have him. You had your way and now he has
even adopted you as his daughter,'' Julie said angrily.
''You still jealous that Frank loves me after all this time, aren't you. But
Frank is not the reason why I am here,'' Lark.
''Prey, do tell me,'' Julie said looking bored.
''Where is my necklace?'' Lark demanded.
''Necklace, I don't know what you are talking about?'' Julie said pretending
           to look puzzled.
''Oh, you liar. It was my mom's necklace that I gave you for good luck for
           the verdict,'' Lark said casually.
''Yes, I sure did outsmarted everyone by being found acquitted by the jury.
Too bad Frank was late, due that heavy traffic. He missed my trumpth at
           court,'' Julie said confidently.
''Yes, even Courtney made you a cake to celebrate your big win. Big deal,''
Lark said sarcastically, ''But nevermind that, all I really care is about is
having my necklace back. It is only thing left I have from my mother. So
stop stalling Julie, and tell me where it is.''
''You just noticed that your precious necklace missing now. You lost back in
November and your suddenly concerned about it now,'' Julie laughed.
''I noticed in November it was gone. But you were so insane at time, I was
afraid to question you. Frank finally convinced to me to talk to you after my
countless searches for the necklace in the basement failed,'' Lark said
           confidently.
''What? Frank, let you search through his precious Julie Devlin Museum. I'm
           shock!'' Julie said sarcastically.
''Duh, He lets me search after the place was closed, Julie,'' Lark said looking
           irritated.
''Well, pardon me. Of course, he would do anything for his daughter. But
then he wouldn't help me out in a New York minute,'' Julie snapped.
''Julie, you are a serial murderer. You tried to kill Joe, his precious brother.
Frank hates your guts. You are living in a dream world if you think he wants
to get back together with you,'' Lark chuckled.
''Shut up!! Take a hike, Lark,'' Julie snarled.
''No, I am not going anywhere. Not until you tell me where you hid my
           necklace,'' Lark demanded.
''Fine, anything to get rid of you. It's hidden in the Cheerios box in the
           cupboard,'' Julie said smugly.
''Oh, I never thought you would hid it in your favorite cereal box'' Lark said
           shaking her head.
''Of course not, but then you are too stupid to figure that out, Lark,'' Julie
           said smugly.
''You witch!!! I'm glad you are out of Frank's life'' Lark said angrily.
''You were always out to destroy our relationship and now you finally have
succeed. Happy now!!'' Julie said angrily.
''Yes, I am. But you know, I really didn't have to do thing to break you up
because you did it all on your own. Being a killer is a real turnoff for Frank,
           Julie, '' Lark sneered.
Julie eye's glared and said angrily, ''Why you little ...''
''Touch Lark, and you'll pay Julie,'' a voice yelled.
''Frank! Your brat is bothering me, get rid of her or I will,'' Julie threatened.
''No problem. Lark, you found out what you wanted to know. Let's go home.
Bye Julie,'' Frank said glared at Julie.
Then he and Lark walked quickly out of the room.
Afterwards Julie sat silently at the table, then said angrily to herself, ''Lark,
you stupid little necklace did bring me luck. Bad Luck!!''

           Father's Day
           Ferncliff
           Julie's Room
           Father's Day 1999
           5pm

Julie was flipping through the JC Penny's flyer and muttered to herself,
''Well, I don't have to worry about a Father's Day gift this year. I took care
           of that problem.''
''Julie, stop mumbling and speak clearly,'' a voice said loudly.
Julie looked up and gasped when she saw her father, ''I see dead people!!!''
''You see a dead person, Julie. Namely your dear departed dear old dad,''
           Bennett Devlin said sharply
''Dad, when I killed you, I didn't expect you pay me any more visits. Now, go
haunt some house or bother someone else,'' Julie said coldly.
''I will later tonight, Julie.... Aren't you curious why I am here?'' Devlin
           asked smiling.
''No,'' Julie said casually as she continued to flip through the JC Penny's
           flyer.
''It's father's day. I wanted to spend the whole day with my only daughter,''
           Bennett Devlin grinned
''I rather have dinner with Barney!!'' Julie said sarcastically.
''Julie, I'm hurt you say these very cruel words to me. At least I expected a
present from you since it is Father's day today,'' Bennett said looking hurt.
''I can't possible match last year's gift, Dad. I admit I gave to you a bit early
but I knew that my gift would touch you deeply. I recall you were just
speechless that day when you received it from me,'' Julie said smugly as got
off the bed and walked toward him.
''Julie, you stabbed me with the pen which I gave to Eve. You are a re-gifter.
How could you disgrace our family name by being such a cheap skate,''
           Devlin said shaking his head.
''I killed you, I got that right at least,'' Julie said coldly.
''You used a pen, Julie. You worked in a hospital, couldn't you use a scalpel
to murder me instead. Once again, you are failure as a killer in my eyes,''
           Devlin said in disappointment.
''Who cares if I failed to murder you with the proper weapon. You're dead.
Now beat it, Dad! '' Julie ordered.
''How dare you speak to me like that. You should show me more respect,''
           Bennett said angrily.
''Oh, yeah, what should I be grateful for. First, you drove Buddy's to his
death. Second, you cheated on Mom with Eve. Third, you injected Frank
with DL56 and alternated his personality!'' Julie retorted.
''You should be thankful that I saved his life with DL56. And so what if he
changed a little bit, big deal,'' Bennett said calmly.
''Frank is clean now but that isn't what I want to talk you about. How could
you let Chris and Frank register the patent first!'' Julie ask.
''I'm sorry, Julie. But the next time I have a patient that has a heart attack,
I'll just tell him to wait because I am busy filing for a patent instead,'' Devlin
said sarcastically, ''But you know it is a good thing Frank and Chris filed the
patent first because now you don't receive a dime from those profits,'' Devlin
           smirked.
           ''Why you...'' Julie said.
Then she grabbed her pencil on the table and attempted to stab him in the
heart. Suddenly, she tripped on the carpet, fell through Devlin's ghostly
body, and hit the bed post with her head.
Bennett Devlin burst out laughing then managed to choke out, ''Thank you
Julie, for the best father day present ever!!!''
Then he disappeared from the room, leaving Julie all alone.
''Well, it could of been worst. It could of been my loving mother visiting me
instead,'' Julie said rubbing her head as she sat on the floor by the bedpost.

           Independence Day
           Ferncliff
           The Hallway near Julie's Room
           July 4, 1999
           11pm

''Dr. Baldwin, thank you for driving to Ferncliff tonight,'' Dr. Rimmer said
gratefully, ''I appreciated you coming by on this busy holiday!'' Dr. Rimmer
           said gratefully.
''No, problem. I am more than willing to help a colleague. Lead the way, Dr.
           Rimmer!'' Gail smiled.
''Before I opened the door. There is something you must know first about
Julie's behavior earlier. A short while ago, a orderly attempted to bring Julie
a hot dog, chips and pop for the special July 4 supper meal. He found Julie's
room pitch black, and was immediately assaulted as he walked inside. Julie,
had apparently tackled him then threw him out in the hallway. A few more
guards tried to enter the room but ended with the same fate. The only good
thing that happened was that she did eat her food... Dr. Baldwin, can you
           help me?'' Dr. Rimmer asked.
''I can certainly try. I wonder what made Julie act this way?'' Gail pondered
           outloud.
''Only one way to find out. Go ask her!!'' Dr. Rimmer said then he opened
           the door.
Gail whistled and peaked in, ''Julie! Can we talk?''
''No. Go Away!!!'' Julie said very loudly.
''Julie. Turn on the lights, I promise I won't hurt you!'' Gail said calmly.
''Are you deaf? I said no!'' Julie said angrily.
''Julie! Would you rather talk to Kevin?'' Gail asked cautiously.
''I rather eat broken glass than talk to him. Ok, you win. Come inside my
           mansion,'' Julie said sarcastically.
Suddenly Gail felt herself pulled into the dark room, as the door slammed
           shut.
''Uh, Julie. I can talk to you better if you would only turn on a light,'' Gail
said nervously in the pitch-black room.
''Alright, but only for a short while!'' Julie said as she turn on the lights.
Gail blinked as she saw Julie come into focus, ''Finally! Julie, what is
           wrong?''
''Greg Cooper has been trying to shoot me since it turned dark outside! I had
shut the lights off and hid from that manic,'' Julie exclaimed.
Suddenly both ladies heard a crackling loud sound up above.
           ''Duck!!'' Julie yelled.
Then she suddenly threw herself and Gail to the floor
           ''Julie...'' Gail started to chuckled.
''Oh, you think Greg attempting to kill me is pretty funny, don't you?'' Julie
           said angrily.
''Julie, it's the fourth of July today. What you actually you heard was the
fireworks outside not gun shots!'' Gail chuckled.
''You don't believe me. Fine, why don't head back to corny Baldwin 4th of
July party and hang out with your stupid family!'' Julie said bitterly.
''Julie, Greg is safely locked up in prison. Come with me, and I'll prove to
you that you are mistaken about the sounds you have heard tonight,'' Gail
           said then grabbed Julie's hand.
Then she knocked loudly then the door opened quickly.
''How is it going, you two? Dr. Rimmer asked.
''Oh, Julie is just a little scared by loud noises outside. I was just going to
show they are nothing but harmless Fireworks. Want to come, Doctor,'' Gail
           said pleasantly.
''Of course. Ladies, I will be more than glad to escort you two too the garden
outside,'' Dr. Rimmer said as he cuffed Julie.
''Gee, what a gentleman,'' Julie said sarcastically.
Then the two guards led her toward the back entrance door as Gail and Dr.
           Rimmer followed behind.

           A half hour later
           Ferncliff Gardens

''Oh, Gail! Those fireworks are so pretty. You are right, Greg was never
trying to kill me. I must of been crazy to think that,'' Julie smiled.
           ''You are crazy,'' Gail muttered.
           ''What?'' Julie asked.
''Ah, that she loves the fireworks too. How about some more lemonade,
           Gail?'' Dr. Rimmer said quickly.
''Sure,'' Gail replied as Julie glared coldly at her.
Julie grabbed her glass, raised it then said bitterly, ''Happy July 4th!. This
year certainly is not independent for me!''
